Hey Em thanks! I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving/Christmas and long car trips, I definately needed a few good books to dround out the sound of Disney Movies and kids asking "How much longer?". Yes my kids are officially at that age now...seems to hit at 7 or 8 when they can actually tell time!
I love Emily Watts! I saw her at Time Out for Women--she was awesome! Was her book, Confessions of an Unbalanced Woman good?
All great books, LOOOOOOVE Song of Solomon.
hey jolene, where are you going for christmas and thanksgiving? if you come up here we should get together!
lynette, her book is AWESOME and a very quick read. it made me feel so much better about myself. my sister sent me that book after seeing her at TOFW in texas.
ellen, i've only read song of solomon once because the language was so bad but i think of it as one of my favorite books. i get chills even now when i think about the end.
I highly recommend the Princess Diaries books by Meg Cabot. She cracks me up. I have read all of her books and love them!
You know what's weird? This: I had never heard of The Goose Girl before, but on the exact same day (today) that I read about it in your blog I also came across it in a book I'm reading about the origins of fairy stories! Odd, eh?
Em,
Your sister was probably at the same TOFW as me! I went to the one in Kingwood. Which did she go to? It's such a small world!
oh i forgot to add the sisterhood of the traveling pants. those were pretty good too. at least the first one was.
Em, do you have Song of Solomon? If you do, can you send it with mom when she comes in Dec.? I'm always looking for something to read and I think I've read everything else on your list. I'm re-reading the Twilight books right now (just starting #3) - and I even talked CJ into trying them. He finished the first but who knows if he'll continue? I have another Emily Watts book. It's similar to the one I gave you and I loved it. By the way, I went to the TOFW in the Woodlands. Is Lynette eventually moving back here though? I've GOT to meet her sometime after Chile.
yep, check the bottom of her blog to see the exact countdown of when she comes back. i don't have a copy of song of solomon though, but i'm sure the library does.
Sara,
Whoops! YES, I went to the one in the Woodlands-sorry! And our plans are to move back to Houston when we return from Chile (1-2 years!) I'd love to meet you, too!
you guys met at my baby shower for isaac! i guess that was a long time ago huh!
I remember... I think. Does she look just like you?
no that's my sister ellen. sara is taller and blonder
I remember A Separate Peace from High School. We watched the movie after reading it. Did you know it has Matt Damon in it? He is so NOT the sexiest man alive in that movie!
