question of the week:

what do you want for christmas?

******

i know. 'tis the season to give. but come on, there's got to be something you want. what is it? there is always a lot of stuff i want because i'm kind of a spender, if you haven't noticed already. but we're in a recession, after all, so i'll show my wish list and my realistic list. then it's your turn.

let's start off with cashmere.

cashmere swing sweater in crisp celery
$188, j.crew

*****

long brewster leather boots
$198, j.crew (or any black boot really, these ones are too expensive)

*****
pink kitchenaid mixer, prices vary...but not really.

*****
white converse sneakers
$65, j.crew

*****
and now for some reality:

professional ceramic curling iron, 1 1/2 or 2 inch

*****

mamma mia! movie or soundtrack (on itunes)

*****

tissue turtleneck in dark eggplant, navy, black (only in stores) or heather graphite
$29.50, j.crew

*****

that's my list. what's yours?

That is so funny Emily because Jack Purcell Converse are on my list too! You can get them cheaper at other sites other than J.Crew- I Googled. :) KitchenAid mixer is pricey, but is also a must have!!! Good luck!

Ooooh! Fun stuff.

I want my own ice skates, roller blades and skis. I'd also love a new kitchen table and bar stools. A new Chi flat iron would be great too. Would you mind getting me a couple of these? Santa said I won't be getting any :(

"My two front teeth!" (and maybe some new shoes, a fun IKEA print, and a gift card to Tai Pan)

Aww cashmere-one day, to go along something Tiffany!

I want the movie Hancock, a subscription to Cosmo magazine, some new kitchen spatulas.

GREAT picks - i told santa in my entry for today that a gift card at JCREW would suit me perfectly!

Rumor has it that I am getting the kitchenaid mixer but in white! :)
But the real response should be...World Peace!

I think I'm difficult to shop for--I have no idea what I want.

But this KitchenAid thing. I've been thinking a lot about it because everyone I know who has one SWEARS by it. So, I'm intrigued. But they're very expensive. And I wonder what the appeal is since if you have a big bowl (which we do) and a hand mixer (which we do), what do you need a KitchenAid for? I think I'm missing something and need an explanation. I might regret it, because you'll all probably talk me into it . . .

One night of uninterrupted sleep... ok so maybe a week and anything in cashmere. Both are not happening anytime soon.

I have a kitchenaid and I never, ever use it. Horrible, I know. (At one point in my life I baked). I hate cleaning the thing and would rather hand mix. We got it with wedding gift cards but at least Duncan uses it when he makes Sweedish tea rings...

I LOVE that JCrew celery sweater. Oh my.

I'm getting the Kitchen Aid mixer in white. We found it for $110, so we feel pretty good about it. I like that tissue turtleneck quite a bit though.

Black boots, slippers, and gap gift cards!

Not a thing! I already shopped for myself, heh heh. I let my husband totally off the hook with regard to gift-giving years ago, and I just go buy exactly what I want and this year, what I want included a pair of awesome brown boots. Hope "Santa" fulfills YOUR wishes, tho!

I want either a blackberry storm or an iphone, and lots of other little stupid things (like b&b shampoo and conditioner). But now I want to add that JCrew sweater to my list even though I would NEVER pay that much for a sweater (especially when it was 78 here today and it's mid-December). You have good taste sister!

Oh, and I really want my house to be all fixed soon and CLEAN and I hope this baby comes at least a tiny bit early. I can barely believe I still have 7 weeks to go...

oh, yeah, I also forgot to tell you that I have that tissue turtleneck in brown and I LOVE it. Make sure Santa gets you one of those (and have him pick up the purple eggplant one for me too...)

I want this really cool camera strap that I found (and promptly gave Frank the link to. I'm no dummy.)
I want the biggest box of See's chocolates that Frank can stand to buy.
Some cute shirts would be nice too. But I have no idea what kind. The clothes you put on your blog are always cute but those models are all like size 0 and 6 feet tall! How do they look on real people?
Other than that I'd like a clean house and someone to cook dinner for me...Oh can I put those two at the top of the list??

thanks for the heads up Jenny! good to know.

Debbie, I know these clothes don't look as good on me as they do on models, but I think if you buy nice, well-made stuff, it looks nice anyway.

I should've put See's chocolates on my list too, darn it.

This is kinda lame I guess, but I really want the box set of Anne of Green Gables. I saw it at Costco the other day and was pumped because I love those shows!! Plus, I've never seen the third one! Oh-and Rock Band World Tour but I would probably like Anne first. haha!
