something's second guest blogger

Okay, I am fresh out of ideas. I have tried and tried to come up with something these past few days, but I have exhausted my supply of saved drafts and I'm still empty. I have also tried to force two of my sisters into guest blogging but they both refuse. So now I'm forcing the issue by introducing our our second guest blogger, my sister Ellen. Here are a few tidbits about her:

  • Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico

  • The fourth of six kids

  • Served a mission to San Antonio, Texas for our Church (the TSAM!)

  • Graduated from BYU in 2000 with a BS in Microbiology

  • Married Jared in August of 2000, who teaches middle school

  • Mom to 3 kids--1 boy and 2 girls

  • Lives in St. George, Utah

  • Plays the piano and organ
  • Is a clean freak--not just non-clutter, but non-bacteria as well. When we lived together in college she once did cultures of some places in our apartment. The results were not pleasant.

  • Loves reality TV

  • Was a cheerleader in high school against her will

  • Often gets mistaked for my twin, even though she's 4 years older

  • Has the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. Sometimes referred to as "David Banner" eyes but on her they're pretty, not freaky.

  • Got picked to go down on the ice at a Utah Grizzlies hockey game and participate in halftime events (is that what it's called in hockey?)...she pushed Jared into a wall because she couldn't see (helmet was too big). Me and Jess laughed for days about it.

  • Is very shy (which makes the above even funnier)

  • Is a very good budgeter/money manager

  • Is a great cook but not baker (by her own admission)

  • Once almost cut her finger off slicing a potato and still hates chopping up potatoes

Below are a few pictures to help you get to know our guest blogger a little better:

I hope you'll all welcome our second guest blogger!

Why are there so many pictures of you and your roommates in matching outfits? (I have another one of you, Val, maybe Jolene, and myself wearing white shirts, jeans, and hats).

Ellen- I remember either Emily was really worried the apartment would disgust you when you got there, or you were already there, and she was cleaning the top of the shower curtain rod. Way to be clean!

Emily,
I have a sister{ Colette} that people think is my twin too! The problem is she is NINE years older than me! Do you know how horrible that is for me {and wonderful for her} when people ask who's older!

Also, welcome Ellen! I look forward to getting to know you!

jess you were hanging out with andrea more than us that semester. plus we thought it was weird that day that we all matched so we had jared take our picture (we didn't usually match like that).

lynette, i loved it when i was like 15 or 16, now i figure 4 years isn't that big of an age difference.

So, I'm unclear. Did she agree to guest blog before this post? Or is this post a proverbial kick in the pants?

Well you did jolly well for 'no ideas.' If you're struggling again next week you could always try those themed things like Wordless Wednesday of Thursday Thirteen - I think they're a handy way of getting some focus.
Cheers

Yeah, that reminds me of a question--do you feel like you have to blog every day?

oh...well, that's why i said circa. i didn't know for sure but thought it was my junior year of high school. guess i was wrong.

stacy, no i don't feel like i have to but i like to, except when i have no ideas then it bugs me. ellen did not agree beforehand. this is most definitely a kick in the pants. i have begged and she has refused. now she has to.

maddy, i used to do random thoughts on thursday but haven't had any good random thoughts lately. i'll think about those others though.

I remember the shower curtain rod cleaning incident. Jess and I laughed so hard about how Ellen disinfected the apartment before she'd really move in. Love the pictures of our old apartment. That brings back so many memories! What is the deal with all the matching outfits? Were we really that nerdy?

that was just one day, and it was an accident. don't you remember val, ellen tried to jump over my head from that chair but i stood up before she cleared me and we both fell to the ground? it was such a funny day. i don't remember the shower curtain thing. weird.
