i'm it

I've been tagged again! This time by Lynette and Andrea. Andrea's had 7 random facts and Lynette's had 6, so they're a little different--but I am combining them into one. And I'm positive everyone I know has done this one, so I'm sorry I have to break rule number 3. Here are the rules:
  1. The rules are posted at the beginning.
  2. Each player lists 6 (or seven?!) facts/habits about themselves.
  3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules/details.
Here are my random facts:
  • I type 100 words per minute. That's not all that interesting until you discover why. I can't believe I'm telling you all this. Here goes. I type in my head. Constantly. Everything I see. Speed limit signs. Opening credits on movies. Lettering on packages of food. Conversations I have. Conversations other people have. Conversations on TV. Everything. It started in 8th grade typing class. My teacher suggested we type in our heads as practice, and for some reason I've never been able to stop. And that's not all. I have to even it out. If I type 7 letters with my right hand and only six with my left, I have to add an exclamation mark (in my head) to make it seven and seven. For example, a SPEED LIMIT 35 sign would require that I add quotes around it, because speed and limit even each other out, but the 35 is solely left-hand typed, so the two quotes that are typed with the right hand would even it all out. But a SPEED LIMIT 50 sign would require no additions. It's even. I'm not crazy, I swear. Just a little OCD. And believe me, I wish I could stop. It's awful. That's how I know it's actual OCD because I cannot stop myself even though I hate doing it.
  • I love grilled hot dogs. Regular hot dogs are fine, but grilled hot dogs are delicious.
  • I don't like trying new things. I always get the same thing when we go out to eat because if I happen to order something new and don't like it, then I'm mad that I paid for it and want to send it back and get the thing I originally wanted.
  • I love placemats. I don't like eating without a placemat under my plate and I love the variety you can find at almost any store! They're fun and pretty (and expensive) and I love them.
  • I love to sing. I don't sing well, but I love it. I covet other people who have nice singing voices and envy their talent. I belt out songs like nobody's business when I'm alone in the car and sing to my kids every chance I get. I always want to join the ward choir because I want to sing pretty songs (especially at Christmas time) but I'm way too chicken. At Christmas my sister Ellen would play Christmas songs and I would sing (usually one of my siblings would join in, generally James). We'd ask my dad how we sounded and he would go, "hmmm...nice." That's one of the things I miss the most about being a kid.
  • I love wrapping presents. Dave admits he is terrible at it so I have actually wrapped some of my own presents before, and I don't mind. I love using pretty ribbon (actual ribbon) and yarn and bows and making presents pretty. It's like a work of art--one of the very few creative things I can actually do and be proud of.
  • I am a freakishly good speller. In first grade we were writing letters to Santa Claus and I wrote "Sincerely, Emily Larson". That's right, sincerely. Everybody else was writing love. How did I even know that word? Who knows. But I did. And I spelled it correctly.

I tag anyone who wants to who hasn't already done it!

This was a fun read. We're a lot a like. I could make a list, but that would be like getting tagged all over again!

Hey, you really need to just join the choir. If you WANT to do it, then DO IT!! Trust me, most choir directors are always looking for more people to sing. ESPECIALLY during the Christmas season. I think I'll sing in our Christmas program if I can.

em, you should seriously get help for your typing. It drives me crazy!! heh heh. Whenever I talk to you I think "is she typing this" and you sing GREAT alto, don't be so critical of yourself.

I remember that thing about your typing. I had the same problem for a while, but it did go away. I only type about 1/4 of the time now. I think it's a little bit of an OCD problem. I think being married to Jon has helped me get over it because he's so chilled and relaxed ALL the time. I don't know what to tell ya, my friend. I hope it gets better!

I never knew about the typing thing. How did we live together for basically 4 years and I never knew that? I do it too though---I am not as extreme as you though that's for sure.
