Jonas is TWO!

Jonas had a pretty great second birthday! He got to ride in the car cart and choose his own birthday balloon at the store in the morning:
My friend Whitney came over on Wednesday to make Jonas his very own Elmo cake! He was CRAZY about that cake. Unfortunately I left him alone and he stuck his hands in Elmo's mouth and got black gel frosting everywhere. While we (Whitney) did cake Finn and Jonas played with Eli and Keith and had the best time ever.

Dave had football until late so he facetimed Jonas in the afternoon so he would get a chance to see him. It made him SO happy! All he talks about all day is "talk dada computer?" or "call dada phone?"
I ordered his favorite, pizza, for dinner. Yay for no cooking!

Dave showed up just in time for cake and presents.

I got Jonas this scooter and I'm so glad I did. All the kids, including Isaac, LOVE it. It's super fun. It's a micro mini I think? It's just right for a two year old. He also got super funny Mickey Mouse legos from Grandma and Grandpa Foley, a tickle-me-Elmo and an Elmo book, money from Grandma and Grandpa Larson (that helped pay for the scooter) and a Mickey Mouse backpack. Finn has a backpack that Jonas always tries to steal so I was sure this was going to be his favorite thing ever, but he hasn't even touched it once. I should probably send it back but it was pretty cheap and I'm holding out hope that he'll still use it some day.
Jonas had his 2 year well check today. He's 32 lbs. 2 oz. and 35 1/4 inches tall. He has gotten so big in the past few months and says EVERYTHING. He'll repeat what we say word for word and talks in complete sentences. He counted to 12 on his own a few weeks ago and I was shocked, I've never taught him that. He doesn't watch TV but is a PRO at bothering Finn. In fact, Finn is the first word he says at the beginning of most sentences. "Jonas did you wake up?" "Finn! Yes!" "Jonas are you hungry?" "Finn." What? It's so weird and funny. He looooves to read books and will sit on my lap for ages looking over his Elmo birthday book. He hates sitting still so that's big for him. He wants to be outside mostly and loves giving Lexis (our dog) kisses. It's disgusting but he genuinely loves her. He is obsessed with shoes and puts everybody's shoes on all day long. I had to force my family to start closing the shoe closet because he can't get it open and I was going nuts tripping over shoes all day. He sleeps from about 8 pm to 7:30 am most nights. He gets up once usually for a drink and I'm thinking about moving him out of the crib. For now it's the only place he can't escape from so he's staying. For now. When Finn started using the potty, so did Jonas. He's still fully in diapers but uses the potty several times a day and I'm hoping potty training will be sooner than later. He loves Dad most of all and asks about/talks about him ALL. DAY. LONG. He's just obsessed with him. It's very sweet. He sure is growing up! We love Jonas!
