For months Finnegan has talked about getting a Lightning McQueen bike for his birthday. He went to Walmart one day with Dave and saw it and had his heart set on it. He also wanted a McQueen helmet but then saw a hot wheels helmet with foam flames on top and changed his mind. I took Zoe with me to buy his bike and she chose a game for him, Yeti in my Spaghetti. He had seen it in commercials and was totally thrilled. We went to church and then he helped me make and frost his chocolate cake with white ice cream. He chose pizza for dinner so we made homemade pizza. He got to Facetime Grandma and Grandpa Foley in Ukraine, and we even played "Pin the tire on McQueen" as a family. It was cute and fun and just right for a new 4-year-old.
Finn is turning into the cutest little guy. He's fun to take places because he talks non-stop and can get in and out of the car by himself. He finally decided to be potty-trained about a month ago and it is heaven on earth. I tried a few different times after his last birthday but he just wasn't ready. He finally sort of did it himself and we tossed the pull-ups. He hasn't even had an accident at night! I guess he just had to be ready on his own time.
Finnegan loves to play with friends, especially Jude and Jace. He went to PMO but once you turn 4 you're too old and he's been so sad about not having his "class" anymore. His love for Paw Patrol is waning but he likes plenty of other things. No major obsessions yet but I'm sure that will come. He likes to watch Ryan Toys Review on YouTube but I find if he watches videos he's a lot grumpier so I limit that quite a bit. He finally seems to like Primary and doesn't cry anymore, but often comes to church with no shoes on because they bother him (and I've given up, clearly).
Finn is playing with Jonas a little better but still doesn't love to be with him. He wants Dave to lay by him every night before bed and play Plants vs. Zombies and talks at full volume about every part of his day. He only has one volume, whether it's 2:00 am or pm and it's LOUD. He loves getting haircuts and new shoes but then never wants to wear them. His favorite thing right now is potty jokes and likes to say "butt" and "poop" at every possible moment.

That cake looks delicious, and I bet even more so with white ice cream!
Now that I have all teenagers and above, I miss those young ages so much.
Your family sure seems awesome. You're doing great thing!
