saturday morning i was up bright and early. i was in charge of the easter party for our ward. i headed to walmart to grab the food then went to the church to set up. i took my camera and then forgot to take pictures, but it was a really great party! good food, really cute decorations, and at the last minute i decided to make 90 of these from our best bites. cute, but seriously, what was i thinking?
the kids sang "this little light of mine" with a band (seriously--two
guitars, a drum, a fiddle, piano, tambourine, and spoons!) and we had an
easter egg hunt outside. apparently 440 eggs was not enough because my boys each only found 2 (although noah did find 2 hardboiled eggs, from who knows when or where. gross.). my sweet friends racheal and yolanda put together the egg hunt and it was so nice to be able to delegate that
chore task.

| zoe picked out her own outfit, in case you were wondering what the deal was... |
sunday morning we had baskets and church--isaac said "when will the
easter bunny come again?" and i said "ummm, there is no easter bunny.
easter is about Jesus and the resurrection." i've never, EVER, mentioned
the easter bunny to him, so i did not feel bad crushing his childhood. not even a little.
church was great, if only i could get my kids to look at the camera with their eyes open. my mom got zoe's dress and polo shirts for the boys but i decided not to go with the polos and exchanged them for button-ups. cute. thanks mom! i looove dave's new suit. thank you, tax return.
after church there was a guy in the parking lot asking kids what easter means to them, and isaac is the first kid featured in the video
here. i'm just glad he actually knew what easter was about. phew.
we came home and i went a little crazy. a 4 pound ham, a 9x13 of cheese potatoes, 8 deviled eggs, jell-o, rolls, green beans...and only dave and i ate anything. well, the boys had some rolls i guess. we have so much food left over, i don't know what i was thinking. but it was delish and relaxing and a great easter sunday.
how was your easter?

Dinner was the same for us too! We will be eating a lot of ham this week.
The party was great! And so gross about the hardboiled eggs he found.
I loved Hallie at the end of the video (of course), but it was so typical Hallie that it made me laugh.
our Easter was nice. nothing too exciting. we went to the early (8:30am) service at church. came home cooked a yummy breakfast (scrambled eggs with canaidan bacon, tomoatos, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and cheese. potatos. fruit. and banana nut bread. all made by me except for the banana nut bread), then Chris spent majority of the day cleaning out the garage. it's super cute actually because he's never been a home owner, so he's slowly learning the responsibilities.
then we cooked a yummy dinner. he grilled some chicken, and i made some mashed potatoes and green beans.
What a fun Easter! And those carrot-utensil things are ADORABLE! I've never seen that before- so creative!
You do cute stuff. Seriously cracking up about Isaac and the easter bunny! Poor kid.
Easter was so low-key for me this year. I miss the easter egg hunts. Yep. Did those until I was 16.
Wow! That is a lot of dinner! You guys should have had someone over to join you all! It's hard to justify making a good meal when I know it'll just be me and James eating. . . but then again, you never know when kids will eat and when they won't. (:
