random thought thursday

have you ever heard
of the balloon fiesta in albuquerque?
check out just one of the awesome balloons!
just one more reason albuquerque is the coolest.
my favorite was riding the bus to school
on october mornings and seeing
hundreds of balloons in the air.
too cool.
(and behind darth is winnie the pooh!)

******

i keep scissors
in my top bathroom drawer.
i use them almost daily.
i'm a genius.
who else but a genius
would think to put scissors
in the bathroom?

******

last night we hung out
at the clearfield fire station.
watched them put out fires,
climbed on fire trucks,
even watched life flight land in the parking lot...
and i forgot my camera.
blast!
cute bryan fawcett from our ward
was all dressed up in his fireman garb
and taught isaac how to use a
fire extinguisher--
then got us busted because we don't have one.

******

isaac woke up
10 minutes before school started
this morning.
we still got there on time.
booyah.

******

lynette just got back
from thailand.
check out her amazing trip
and awesome photos.

******

i don't think
we should teach kids
about finding the end of a rainbow.
it's impossible, and i thought it
was possible for longer than i should have.

******

there is a spider loose
in my house.
i had it trapped under a cup
and noah knocked it over.
and now i'm a prisoner in my own home.
i can't sit on the floor or the couch
because i'm afraid it will get me.
i even had nightmares about
cockroaches last night.
stupid bugs.

******

my cool cousin debbie
came over and hung out
with me yesterday.
she's funny.
now i wish she didn't live
in massachusetts...
and that i made more of an effort
to see all of my cool cousins that
live nearby.

******

i'm getting better
at scrabble.
i've still never won a game,
but i AM getting better.

you are a genius!

i've always wanted to try and find the end of the rainbow. i'm pretty sure it's going to be one of those things i won't believe until i do it myself.

ok totally miss the balloon fiesta!! I loved eating the indian fry bread, which interesting to note is called something different up here! Tons of 'natives' (that's what they want to be called!) up here though and they make the same thing.

I keep sissors in my bathroom, small sharp ones that I use to trim my eyebrows...haha

I still look to see if I can see a pot'o gold at the end of the rainbow and maybe a glimpse of a leprechaun. dont give up on it! keeps you young at heart...I hope!

Cool! Then I'm a genius, too! I'm also a big fan of kitchen scissors. :)

Peter Gessel lives in Albuquerque and his sister just went down to visit him and they went to the balloon festival and loved it.

Em, have you ever played Speed Scrabble? It's a blast!! Sooo much easier than scrabble but it still is a 'thinker'. we should play it sometime and let the kids play. btw... if you ever want to send the boys over i'm game and i know cameron would be too. ;)

James and I keep scissors in our top bathroom drawer too!! I was JUST thinking yesterday, as I was using them for the 3rd time that day, how genius it was to have them there.

Caleb would NEVER be able to get up and get to school on time if he woke up 10 minutes before. Great job!

I'm so excited you called me cool! I loved visiting you. I told hubby we need to move to Utah. I had so much fun seeing everyone!
