party of the year

the hosts:
edward and i? we really know how to throw a party.

i made bloody cupcakes:
(red velvet)

we had several different blood types,
to cater to different tastes:

(A and O neg, and B positive)

the food table:

friends brought so many treats
we couldn't possibly eat them all:

a yummy cheese ball,
cheesecake parfaits (jenn, send recipe please!),
red vines,
milk duds,
chocolate-covered pretzels,
chocolate waffle cookies,
caramel popcorn...

maci and michelle even came
dressed appropriately:

okay, okay, so it wasn't really edward and i planning the party.
just me
(but you totally believed me, right?)

but my friend misty had bought this edward cut-out
for her sister's birthday
and was kind enough to bring it for the party.
he scared each one of us at some point.
walking into the other room to get treats,
we just didn't expect a pale dude looking at us.

i got a few pictures of other friends with edward.
here's tori:

and here's dana
(who postponed her family spring break trip so she could come):

the group:
(notice my red eyes...maybe i really am a vampire?!)(left to right: jenn, misty, dana, maci, dana, edward, michelle, erin (holding heber) and me.)

we started the movie around 8:00 when it was just getting dark,
and turned out all the lights.

about 9 of the 15 people i invited came,
which worked out great because everyone had a seat.
until tori showed up late
(and then she had to sit on the floor--sorry dude).

it was seriously fun. we ate, talked, laughed, even made fun of the movie a little.
we're totally going to do it again--not for twilight, just for something else to watch.
it worked out great to do it in my condo's clubhouse.
that way i didn't have to kick husband and the kids out for the night,
and we could be loud and crazy.

******

i wish now i had waited a week,
because hwtm (where i got the drink labels from)
did her own party this weekend,
and had lots more downloads and ideas.
i actually had the idea to frame movie quotes
but my printer ran out of ink
from printing the drink labels.
ah well.
to see more of her ideas (and amazing pictures), click here.

the best part? total cost for the party: $14.37.
now that's entertaining.

Nice. I love theme parties!!

When I first looked at that picture of Dana, I was trying to figure out why she was tugging down her pants to show Edward her underwear but I'm guessing it's just the picture. That's her shirt, right?

stacy, yes, and it's blurry, and she wasn't posed yet. I probably shouldn't have posted it but it was the only one I had.

Cheesecake Parfaits

1 pkg cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups cold milk
1 pkg (3.4 oz) vanilla or cheesecake flavor instant pudding
1 1/2 cups thawed cool whip, divided
24 nilla wafers, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 cups seasonal berries (i like strawberries and blueberries)
1-2 tbsp sugar

Sprinkle sugar over berries and stir to coat. Refrigerate.

Beat cream cheese with mixer until creamy. Gradually beat in milk. Add dry pudding mix; mix well. Whisk in 1 cup cool whip; do not over mix!

Layer half each of wafers, berries and pudding mixture in 8 parfait cups. Repeat layers. Serve with a small dallup of cool whip on top.
