who is beautiful?

i know everybody's definition is different, but this week i said to husband that i thought jillian from the bachelor was beautiful. he disagreed with me, calling her "cute." so i asked him who he thought was beautiful, and he didn't have an answer.
here is my ode to jillian--i swear i'm not in love with her, i just thought all these pictures showed different sides of her beauty. also, that picture on the right side is blurry but i am in love with her dress. so cute.
then tonight he came in and said "i know who's beautiful." **
he listed these two women:
what do you think? i classify julianne hough as cute, and dani reese from life as "smokin' hot". but i don't think of either one as beautiful. looking at these pictures, of course they are beautiful. they just didn't spring to mind, probably because they're not models that you see in ads all the time showing off their beauty.

** dave would like me to add this disclaimer: he does not sit around ogling women, classifying them as cute/hot/beautiful. this was just a funny convo between us two that i thought would make a funny post.

Julianne is definitely "Cute". Kasrton and I have had that conversation before about Julianne Hough, and Karston agrees that she is "cute". :) I also think Jillian is beautiful.

I agree that Kate Winslet is truly beautiful.
I don't really know what my definition is. But, my little brother kissed Julianne Hough when they were in 6th grade. Haha, do I win a prize?
I know I am dating myself but google a picture of Grace Kelly - she was beautiful!
Kate Winslet. Audrey Hepburn. Those 2 come to mind. I don't like the plastic "Barbie" look some women have--the hair and make up and look that makes it seem they've stepped out of a Hollywood Botox office. I like classic beauty and I think those 2 have it.
I also find, when we're talking about older women, that Diane Sawyer and Helen Mirren look fantastic.
I have a WAY to complicated scale for beauty. There's ok, cute, pretty, beautiful, and gorgeous. I think Jillian and Julianne are pretty. Catherine Zeta Jones and Halle Berry are beautiful. Heidi Klum and Giselle Bundchen are gorgeous.
I don't think that dani reese if even very pretty. Jullian is pretty, but there is something with her nose that bothers me. Julianne is cute. I'll have to think about what famous chick I think is beautiful. I don't know any famous people and personality and charm play alot into beauty. Anyone and be pretty, cute, or smokin', but beauty is a little more special than just appearance.
Stacy, there was a picture of Helen Mirren in a bikini in People magazine a while back. She looked AMAZING. Way better than I have or ever will in a swimming suit...and she's in her 60s. I was blown away.
I agree with Kate Winslet. I think she's beautiful.

Yes Lynette, I hadn't even thought of those two but I was walking past Victoria's Secret yesterday and was blown away by the pictures of Heidi Klum. How can she possibly be that gorgeous? AND have had 3 kids? It's just crazy!
I agree with Victoria about how personality and charm play a lot into beauty. Inner beauty really shines through. That's part of why I think Kate Winslet is beautiful (her personality, etc.).

Two women whose names get tossed around a lot are Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. They're SO different from each other, but while I think they're both attractive, Jennifer Aniston seems more beautiful to me, I think. Not sure why.
I'm with you on Julianne - more "cute" than beautiful. I have a hard time thinking anything other than that for short people. As for my hubby, he thinks Angelina Jolie is up there. So cliche!
I vote for Kate Winslet! I guess the women above are all beautiful in their own way, but none of them are my type! (Yes, I have "types") If I were to pick one for me to look like, I would pick Dani.
Obviously this whole conversation is a matter of opinion...except Michelle Obama. She's probably a great lady, and perhaps if I knew her I would say she is beautiful, however, she totally looks like a dude. And that's a fact.
Okay, I just had a session with a client and the topic of "beautiful" came up so I told her about this conversation and my opinion about Jennifer Aniston and she says that generally women think Jennifer Aniston is prettier and men think Angelina Jolie is prettier. Is this true?

I knew that comment couldn't have been from emily but dave I was in hysterics, ahhh so funny. On a related note I returned something at target today and after a 5 minute interaction with the salesperson I realized it was a guy (name was Matt) but I swear it could have been a girl very strange for st george. Anyhoo, I don't think any of them are beautiful, cute maybe.
Okay Emily I have to say I totally know what you mean about Jillian. I was crazy at how good she looked all the time, but her face is not quite beautiful. She has an AMAZING body, great hair that she does(unlike Molly totally agaree with you there too,)she dressed so cute and has a great personality. She is very well put together.
I also thought Dave's comment was hilarious and I want to know if none of those people are beautiful, Ellen , then who would you say is?

my 2 cents: i'm all about the inner beauty, just because i myself have never been what "everyone" else categorizes as beautiful. i do love kate winslet. what about the men?!
i would love me some Channing Tatum, or Jake Gyllenhaal, or Taye Diggs. They are all beautiful to me.

all those stars have professional people that do them up like that, any one of us could be that beautiful with that much work. So in REAL life there's a girl in my ward who's beautiful, unbelievably beautiful because it's real

none of them fit my definition of beautiful. But then, I have high standards and base things on a more personal basis. Not that you are in the wrong, but all the people I consider beautiful are people I know personally.

Seriously? Wow, I had no idea! I think Michelle Obama is beautiful in looks and as a person--when I hear her speak or see her interact with her kids and husband, she strikes me as classy, intelligent, and beautiful.
I really like her as a person as well Stacy, and I happen to think she's pretty. The dude comment was from Dave. Dave and I obviously have differing tastes on beauty! Sadly, I think I'm hot so Dave must not. heh heh heh, just kidding.
