it was rainy and cool this morning, so we couldn't resist the opportunity to play outside for a bit.
i love rain.
i don't think i would love constant rain, but once or twice a week for the rest of my life would be just fine. it really cleans everything off, especially in dusty utah, and it smells nice, and it cools us off. it's been humid for a week with nothing to show for it, so i was relieved it finally rained. so were the boys! they loved playing in it.
then we went to swimming lessons and the park. the park was a bust, everything was wet (not sure what i was thinking) so instead went to lunch at a playland. we haven't done this for a while, and the boys loved it. but what they mostly loved was the 6-day-old baby at the table next to us. they both sat, awestruck, looking at this tiny baby. every movement, every facial expression, every blink, yawn, and stretch was noted with great excitement, followed by
and
"can we please have one of those at our house?!"
no. no you cannot. not for a while, anyway.
i tried telling isaac that even if i was pregnant right now, he would be five before a baby came.
and he goes, "oh, five days? that's not too long."
no kid, close to a year. he didn't get it. i kept trying to tell him that it takes a very long time.
he just didn't get it. maybe i should just say "sure" and move on next time.

Hey, em, remember when you were at grandmas house and you showed me that page with all of the blogs you veiw? I cant remember how to get there. Could you tell me?
summer, are you talking about google reader, or the blogger dashboard? if it's the dashboard, go to blogger.com and sign in, it'll be the first page you see. if it's google reader, just go to google and type in "google reader" and it'll take you there. sign in (same sign-in you use for blogger) then start adding subscriptions.
Finally! I've been waiting all day for a new blog, and now there are two! Thank you :) I can go home happy now.
Hey, I need your help! I love your blog and I am trying (and failing miserably) to change mine up a bit. How did you do this? Was it a website or are you really smart?
Any info would be so nice.
Thanks,
Jillyn
And PS HOORAY for a rainy day. SO NICE
ahhh, jill. you're in for a treat. my friend lynette designed it for me. she's a GENIUS. i can hook you guys up if you want! i had the "something" theme already because i couldn't come up with anything clever for my blog so i just called it "something" for the time being, and it kind of stuck. and she just ran with it. if you want to look at her blog (soooo seriously cute), you can click on her name on the side where my link list is, or at the very bottom right on the "designed by lynette" button. she's very talented. we have real similar tastes, very simple (white background, cute header) so i knew i would love whatever she did.
sorry it took me so long april!! pms, you know? really slows me down some days.
Hey Em, who takes their 6 day old baby to a yucky, germ infested playland? Or am I just wierd in thinking that?
heh heh heh, i thought the same thing jolene! but the baby never left the carseat (or woke up, for that matter). i guess the more kids you have, the more lax you get about that kinda thing.
I love rain. I love lightening. I love thunder. I love curling up in bed and falling asleep to the sound of rain tapping against my window.
I can't really complain about living in a place where the weather is 60 degrees and sunny everyday, but if I could complain, I would say I wish it rained...at least more than once every 7 years!
ugh lynette, that long? is it really brown there?
i love thunderstorms too. my oldest sister got married when i was 9 in the washington dc temple. we stayed in my uncle's house in maryland the night before her wedding, it was a really old house and we were in the very top level (it was like 6 stories, we were in the attic), right next to a window, and it rained and thundered all night. it was awesome. one of my favorite memories!
So fun! Cameron was watching your boys intently playing outside yesterday morning. He thought it was hilarious when the hose would spray out over them. I wish it rained more here!!
I absolutely LOVE the smell of rain! How fun to let them out to run around in it?!
Don't you love trying to talk logic to a 4 year old? At least he's not asking you where babies come from yet!
(yeah, he actually is...)
I have been hoping and praying for a good thunderstorm! I love them! My high school friends and I went to a cabin after prom and we watched the most awesome thunderstorm ever, lighting hitting the lake down the hill... A great memory for me also!
Hey, why not? What's one more baby? JK It's so hard to reason with little ones... Max would love another baby in the house; he absolutely loves them, it's so cute. Mommy would like another baby in the house, too, but that's another story....
Rachel
Oh I'm so jealous. We haven't had rain in WEEKS!
Looks like your boys had a great time playing in it.
LOVE rain. And LOVE thunderstorms. We get a lot of them here. Summer thunderstorms are so romantic! We also have lightning bugs (fireflies) in our backyard and love to catch them outside! So fun!
