my funny valentine

minutes after posting my valentine's day post, the doorbell rang, and this was on my doorstep: i just LOVE getting flowers on valentine's day! here's a peek inside...
and the final result (i'm not a great arranger, so don't judge that, just look at how pretty the flowers are!):
flowers and chocolates, what could be better than that?

oh wait, how about a delicious, pioneer woman recipe, candlelight dinner!

after all of the slaving in the kitchen

(i even ROASTED MY OWN GARLIC,
my house will never smell the same),
this was our dinner, or something like unto it
(this is the pw picture):and this was isaac's dinner:
he did pretty good with the pop-tart
(what's left is the "crust" that he refuses to eat)
but he only ate one piece of the fresh pineapple he begged me to buy at target today.
but he did say, "thanks for the candlelight dinner, mom!"
sooo romantic.
ps i don't normally let isaac eat like this for dinner.
tonight was obviously a special occasion!
i mean, candles and everything...

So, to sum up today...
1.You won a new dress.
2.You got flowers and chocolates.
3.You had a delicious meal! (Which I'm dying to find out how everything tasted. Did you make the pie too?)

I think you've had the best Valentine's Day--EVER!!!

it was DELISH. seriously good. only trouble is pw has a professional-type gas stove so her recipe says to cook meat 2 minutes on each side...but mine was still bloody after like 10 because my stove doesn't get hot enough. so i had everything timed out according to her recipe but by the time the steak was done the potatoes were like ice. the potatoes are definitely worth a try. i did two potatoes and a whole garlic clove, that was a little too much though, i'd recommend just under a whole clove for two potatoes. yummy. i didn't try the pie but as soon as i can convince mom to make me a pie crust i will!
