17-14 giants

we came down to my parents house for the superbowl yesterday. my mom made two roasts and then poured goodwood bbq sauce all over them so we had bbq sandwiches on homemade rolls, potato salad, baked beans, the most delicious fruit salad you could possibly imagine (my sister-in-law misty buys tons of fresh fruit--raspberries, pineapple, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, strawberries--it's amazing, homemade guacamole, homemade salsa, so much deliciosity i could hardly believe it and i literally ate myself sick. i provided baked bean dip and brownies and it was all DELISH. here are a few pictures of our day. go giants.

delos had to bring mom's tv out so we could watch it in hi-def. misty won't let them watch tv at their house on sundays or else we would've been over at their house for sure watching the huge screen, but this was pretty good too.
we weren't sure we were going to come because we had lots of new snow (4-5 inches) at our house in the morning but by the afternoon the roads were mostly clear so we headed down. as we got to draper everything looked normal but when we started driving up the hill to my parents house the snow kept getting deeper and deeper until....

THIS! they had TWO FEET of snow yesterday. their church was even cancelled, something that never happens here because everyone is so used to the snow. it's getting ridiculous! if i hear one more word about the utah drought i'll pummel somebody.

So who were you rooting for?

Holy snow! We haven't had much snow this year--mostly ice here and there. But everything cancels around here for snow--we LOVE that. I've always though Utahns were crazy to not cancel more because of their "Pioneer Spirit." Pioneers weren't driving cars on roads. And I get so tired of hearing that someone has 4-wheel drive. Doesn't matter. They're still the ones slipping and sliding like everyone else. Snow days rule!! Okay, rant off. :P

i never heard that pioneer spirit thing before, HI-larious. i meant they're used to it because we get so much of it we're constantly driving in snow. school used to get canceled in albuquerque for snow too, wish they would do it here! (although i did here some schools in ogden were canceled, probably because they're imbeciles about plowing there)

(oh, and i couldn't have cared less about the superbowl this year, i suppose the giants because they were the underdogs, although i do feel bad that the patriots perfect season had to end)

ROTFL! I know, it's all about the food, isn't it? The spread sounds YUMMY! I wish you guys lived closer-- I think we could have a lot of fun together.

I want to be part of your family just so I can come and eat at your shin-gigs! Looks like you guys are getting lots of "moisture" in Utah! By the way, what does ROTFL mean?

ROTFL = rolling on the floor laughing and LOL = laugh out loud. Like this:

LOL at "moisture!" That cracks me up, too. It's so "Mormon Speak." I saw a funny thread about that--haven't read the whole thing, but a lot of is funny: Mormon Speak

The snow is crazy! My parents (in North Ogden)have pictures of each other wearing snow shoes on top of huge mounds of snow 10+ feet while they're shoveling down the snow from the snow blower being used on the driveway. They got over 3 feet yesterday alone. But at this point it doesn't mean much because who knows where ground zero is anymore.
