Remember this (click here) from last year?
I was rear-ended on I-15 last Christmas (as in 2006). It took 2 months and $6,000 for my car to get fixed and I couldn't get a rental because we don't have rental insurance. Most insurance companies would give you one if it was their driver's fault but no, this lady who hit me continually denied that it was her fault that she hit me from behind. She had the opportunity to go to court to fight her citation but rather than do that (and face the chance of having to not only pay for damages but also reparations and my rental car), she paid the citation. Yet still her insurance company refused to pay. Well here we are, January 2008, more than a full year after the crash, and today we finally got our deductible back. The case had to go to mediation since neither side would accept fault and apparently that takes a year...anyway, $500 is very timely in January, right after Christmas. I wish I could meet this dumb lady and rub the check in her face.
Finally, some vindication!

Woo Hoo!
Yay! At least you got the deductible back. I would want to rub it in the lady's face too...does that make us bad? :)
probably not. i had a minor breakdown when her insurance company denied our claim and i called her ins. co. and asked for her address so i could just "stop by" and tell her that what she was doing (lying) was wrong and lying wasn't going to do anything but ruin my life (money was really tight that christmas and i was seriously upset)...the adjuster was like "that's harrassment". i was like, oh...and then i hung up. felt SO stupid.
Seriously! Why are people so dishonest? We had more damage done to our car (dings from car doors and one lady with a HUGE SUV actually parked on top of our car once!) when we lived in Utah than anywhere else we've lived. RUDE!
Hooray for you! Isn't justice sweet!
And, how did you put a link in your title-AWESOME!
i didn't, the title is vindicated...the rest is text.
that should at least pay for the itouch. how did you guys afford such an expensii christmas anyway? good for you for getting that money back! next time, if i were you, and this happens again, i'd get her insurance info, her home and cell number, address and anything else too!

gym, she was bleeding profusely from the head and was taken away on a gurney in an ambulance to a hospital. police got insurance info by digging through her glove box after she was already gone. next time, i'll force it out of 'em BEFORE THEY GET TREATMENT, DARN IT. dumb.
and i have a job now, remember?
insurance stuff is such a pain. when Sean was in his accident 3 years ago it took us a year to get our money--and Sean's truck had been totaled and the guy admitted it was all his fault and it still took a year!
where's your job at?
Yeah, what's this about a job?
i work for google from home
WHAT! You work for Google? What do you do?
And, wha,wha,wha... I'm so dumb--I thought your link was the title. I need more sleep.
Google? Fill us in...what do you do? Maybe this should be your next post?!?
it's really not that exciting. dave's brother mark and his wife stacy do it and they hooked me up. i'm a contractor (not an actual google employee) and i do ads evaluation. it's kinda neat because i can work whenever i want, any amount of hours between 10 and 30 a week. it's perfect for me.
Glad you got that money back. But, remember that when people have accidents or make observations they may actually believe that what they saw and experienced is different that what you saw and experienced. It's is very common for people to observe exactly the same event and describe what happened very differently. So we need to give people the benefit of the doubt and not just assume they are being dishonest.
Dad
heh heh heh, thanks dad.
Sweet! Very timely. :) I'm just finishing up my 2 year stint with Google--what an awesome job huh?? Loved it. I send people here who are interested, tho they hire recommended resumes *much* higher than not: Google Info
sooo, anyone want a recommendation?!
