It doesn't matter what's happening or what we're doing.
If I go near the kitchen, Noah comes running at full speed, begging for me to lift him up on the counter and let him cook with me...even if I'm not cooking at the moment.
I took this picture December 13 when I was making mashed potatoes (the stove wasn't on, by the way). It used to be that he just wanted to play with the pots and pans, but ever since this day, he now wants on the counter, pots on the stove, with something to stir (notice my pink spatula, I'm in love with it). Yesterday Dave was home sick with the flu so I decided to make chicken noodle soup for dinner. Noah sat on the counter for a full thirty minutes while I chopped and stirred and boiled. Somehow cooking fascinates him. The video below is Noah helping put the carrots and potatoes in his pot. He's quite the little chef (and notice he's wearing the same outfit with different socks, how weird is that?). Now if I could just teach him to do it on his own, we'd be set.
(oddly enough, my cousin debbie had a post yesterday with the exact same title, and I already had this one written and titled for today! so weird)

We are like blog sisters...
I was wondering if Noah was available to cook our supper tonight? We're a little busy and can't think of what to serve!
That video is so dang cute!
Fun! Gotta love it when they help. Beth likes to help too, and its messy and crazy sometimes, but fun!
He's gonna grow up to be the next Emeril Lagasse... and you'll have this video as proof that he's been cooking since he was a baby!
Cute
He is so intent on doing a thorough job - very sweet!
yep. he wasn't done until every single potato and carrot was in that pot. crazy.
That is so adorable to see him helping you out with dinner! SO CUTE!! He still reminds me a lot of Jack.
james said the same thing tonight, that both kids remind him of his own. neat. my kids were WILD with him around, it was nuts.
He is so cute helping you! I would say that I'm jealous of you're little helper but I know that when my kids "help" like this it usually just ends up being more work and less fun amd more mess for me. Selfish eh?
too funny. carter is the same exact way. he loves to be the one who gets to pour the cracked pepper or salt on whatever's cooking
