Happy Birthday, Kat!

Today is my friend Jessica's birthday (she made everyone call her Kat our sophomore year, hence the title), so in honor of her, I thought I would post a few pictures of the fun we had together in college. I never got to celebrate her birthday with her because she was always in Phoenix for Thanksgiving. So Jess, here's to you. Happy Birthday! I hope you get 4 or 7 presents today!

Here we are in the snow behind Sundance in the spring of our freshman year. Some of our friends used to go build ski jumps and do tricks, so we went to watch on a surprisingly warm day (hence the short sleeves).

Here we are on the last Sunday together of our Freshman year, outside the Cannon Center I think.

Having fun in Jessica's friend's truck. It had a CB (in Jessica's hand) with a loudspeaker, so we drove around yelling things at people on the street. So immature, but very fun (notice the 5th wheel (me)).

Our first trip to Vegas with her boyfriend Scott in February (or March?) of our freshman year. I think we're on top of the Stratosphere here. Notice that I am the third wheel...this happened a lot that year (either third, or fifth, or seventh, or ninth). Sad.
Sorry Jess, I had to include a picture of you as Susan from "Days of our Lives." Classic. Here is Jess and Val in McCall, Idaho. We were there for Val's boyfriend Parker's farewell.
Me with Jess and P at Duncan's grandma's house...we spent lots of time there that semester. Notice that I am once again the third wheel.
Matching corduroy overalls in Helaman Halls. Awesome. At the beginning of our Junior year we went shooting with my boyfriend's cousin. Here's Jessica showing her prowess with a disgusting dead deer.

Jessica, Val, and Jolene checking the oil in Jess's pimpmobile. I've never met anyone who cares more about their car than her.

Me and Jess wrestling in a tree (?).
Andrea, Me, Jess, and Cassie
Our first trip to Vegas including waterskiing in wetsuits on Scott's boat. Well, everyone but me that is. I tried to get on a tube to go tubing and fell into the water...it was like 60 degrees. Awful.

Visiting Jess over the summer at the Mesa temple--my brother James is proposing in the first one (as a joke. I think he was already engaged).

More Vegas fun--we went hiking somewhere, and you can see in the picture on the right that we had to hike through a canyon where the water was almost up to my waist. Then we swam in a hot spring and hiked back...but our pants were so wet we couldn't get them back on, so we hiked back without them (we had swimming suits on).

I miss you Jess! And here's a little birthday tidbit: did you know that it's Frasier singing the theme song as the credits roll on the end of his show? Crazy, huh?

Happy birthday!

Okay, did you have a digital camera back then or have you scanned all your pictures? And if I fly you out, will you scan all of our pictures? :P

Very cool post! We LOVE Helaman Halls (I'm a Budge girl and Mark's a Chipman boy--though I think those halls have changed genders since then). :P

So, okay, McCall Idaho isn't that big. My Freshman roommate is from there and she and I have had so much fun there. It's beautiful!

And the Cannon Center, the pictures, etc. Ah, memories.

I once taught a missionary that was dating a "Jolene" and really thought she was the one. He called me the other day. He's married (not to Jolene) and has 3 kids. Wild. Anyway, happy birthday Jessica. Thanks for letting us all peek in on the post!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

It was fun to see those pictures and to be reminded of the infamous roommate switcheroo! It looks like you guys all had fun freshman year (even if you did have to be the 3rd, 5th, 7th, or 9th wheel, Emily).

oh and P.S. I LOVED having you there with me and the boyfriends. In fact, I would still love it if you were the third wheel with me and Sean. Can you move down here?

So fun! I was feeling really bad after looking at the first few pictures because I left halfway through freshman year, but I'm so glad you put those lovely pictures with me in them. Could I be any uglier? And thanks for mentioning Parker's name. So many memories! That was a fun trip, even if things didn't work out in the end. I hope you had a great birthday, Jess! I left you a message on Facebook for the occasion!
