i love this show. the second season isn't getting as rave reviews as the first but i'm really enjoying it. it's very different from the first season but a world war will do that to you--it naturally changes things.
and is there a better man in the world than mr. bates? he's almost as dreamy as mr. darcy!
cjane forced me to take a quiz yesterday to see which character i am. i was expecting edith, but i got robert, earl of grantham instead. hilarious.
i'm curious, who are you?

Love Downtown Abbey and cannot wait for the second season to reach Australian shores. I quite agree that Mr Bates is divine, but comparing him to Mr Darcy (be still my beating heart) may just be going a tad too far!!!!!!
I AM ... the hostess with the mostess... Monday nights. My house. Viewing party! Cupcakes served. You are officially invited. Every week!
I haven't seen this yet and I want to -- I saw that Season 1 was on Netflix, but didn't know that Season 2 was on the PBS website. All of it? I must check it out! Thanks! Would you say it's a family show or more of a put-the-kids-to-bed-and-parents-watch show?
Well. There is some homosexuality in the first episode that is pretty graphic, Stacy (and totally unexpected in a period piece) and then a sex scene in another episode--I'm thinking in the second season, but I can't remember for sure--but beyond that it's definitely family-friendly. PBS doesn't have the whole season because it's showing them currently--it's on Sunday nights, they'll have episode 5 this coming Sunday--so you can see the first 4 episodes of season 2 right now, they put a new one up after it airs on Sunday night each week.
I got Matthew Crawley. Ha! Wasn't expecting that!
I'm halfway through Season 2--I'm so addicted I'll most likely finish it today!
Funny Lynette! How can you finish season 2? Where are you watching it?
Just made friends with this series two days ago and LOVE it! Mr. Bates vs. Mr. Darcy = Darcy, duh, he's charming AND rich!
mom and i just got sucked in. Haha yay!
love this so much. now I have to take the quiz...how could I have missed this post?? I seriously just saw it. huh.
I am Anna Smith, boo-ya. :)
ok, so i had never even heard of this show, which is why i didn't bother to comment prior. but then i saw a skit about it on SNL, and i had a vague thought of "where have i heard of this before"...emilys blog of course! then it has been mentioned twice in my US weekly magazine. this is just another example of something that i will not know of that's going on in the TV world, because apparently all i watch is crap.
